Stay online, stay healthy!
Years before the internet, or even computers, came about, life was so much simpler. In the 1980s you might have got up, straight into your leotard, and performed aerobics in front of the TV with a morning chat show. Now, however, things are very different. Many of us are more or less glued to our desks during the day. And sometimes, the hardest thing to do is stay healthy while you are pretty much sitting there doing everything mentally and nothing physically.
And the difficulties continue for some in their free-time, too. For example, online chat often lasts for hours at a time – fantastic for your friendship, but lousy for your physical well-being.

With all this in mind, here, now, are a few ways to stay energised when you’re slumped in front of the computer chatting online or doing your other work:
1) You may be sitting, but that doesn’t mean you can’t do anything: what’s your left hand doing while your chatting or working? You’d have to have a pretty good excuse not to be able to join in with this exercise! Simply rotate your hand in an oscillating motion, one way then the other. Do this for as long as you can every hour we suggest five minutes or so and you’ll feel a tiredness in your bones that’ll at least remind you what physical exercise is!
2) Those feet shouldn’t be neglected! Worse, if they are, you could suffer the dreaded deep-vein-thrombosis. You may think this is a joke, but we can assure you it is anything but. Fairly recently, an enthusiastic gamer suffered a fatal attack of this after being seated too long without moving his legs. Which leads us to the next point...
3) Take regular breaks: some work-places have gyms, and if you are at home then why not do an instructional Yoga video? There are loads to choose from on Youtube and the like, and it’ll also ease up things like back-ache, allowing you to be much more productive at work, too.
4) Try this: put your legs out as far as they can go, while you’re chatting away, and keep them held their. You could even compete with your online friend if you like! After a while the pain will set in, but don’t worry, it’ll be met by the soothing appreciation of every part of you as you touch their feet down. The last point is this: there’s no need to do nothing. Like anything, it’s all about making the best out of what you have!
