Be a healthy woman

Women are full of maternal instincts and it is natural for them to take on a nurturing and maternal role when others are in a problem. In most cases, this comes at the price of neglecting ourselves. We take care of our men, children, family and friends. We do the cooking, cleaning and pack lunch for the kids. OK, so sometimes these lunches remain forgotten in the school lockers but we need to send them anyway! Through all this, we seldom find time to look after our bodies.

It is very important to de-stress ourselves in ways that nurture and revitalise our bodies. The first thing is to develop the habit of exercise. This is often the one thing that a busy woman tends to put off. Regular exercise helps us get rid of unnecessary stress and is a catalyst in making us feel relaxed. It improves our energy levels and gives us a leaner body while getting off some steam in the process. With all the work we are expected and also instinctively do, it is very important to keep our bodies replenished. A healthy eating habit is a must to nourish our body and health. The prevailing fads, however tempting, often don’t not take into account a woman for whom 24 hours is i nsufficient. In fact, a poor diet can increase your stress levels preventing you from reacting from an even tempered way. Another must is to indulge yourself at a spa. Pampering yourself is not a sin. It helps you do your many tasks better as it melts away your stress. An occasional visit will help you feel beautiful inside and out.

Cultivate a friend circle. It is important for a woman to have friends to talk to, to empathise and generally chat. In many cases, it retains our sanity! Finally, with all the work we do, getting adequate rest is a must to replenish ourselves. Very often, this is a something easily put on the backburner. Sleep replenishes, heals and rejuvenates us. Being a woman becomes a lot easier when your body is better able to cope with all that you have to do.
