Prove the hero right
Perhaps if the young citizens of this country realize the sides of society that take education seriously, Rizal’s words, “the youth is the hope of the nation” will be alive.
Dubbed as ‘the key to success’ education plays an important role in the direction this country is leading to with the future navigation laid upon the shoulders of the youth.
Today government sectors, such as the DepEd, offer programs to keep the children in school instead of work. Balik aral, free basic education for all, scholarship grants, home study program, and alternative learning among others, are what our young may avail in order to pursue education.
The fortunate ones enrolled in exclusive schools enjoy better facilities while those that can’t afford have to make the most out of what the government can provide.
It’s a happy note to confer young achievers the recognition and encouragement they deserve for the honor they have brought to themselves, their families, schools, communities and country.
Team Lagablab from The Philippine Science High School showed the world how Filipinos fare in the field of robotics. They have not only brought home two trophies from the First Robotics Competition in Hawaii but also honor and respect from the organizers and their competitors.
Robert Valcos of St. Mary’s College and Sarah Jane Cua of Pangasinan Universal Institute showed their prowess in numbers after winning in the Sudoku International Open in Thailand.
In the field of arts and music Charice Pempengco has made a name in the world through her conquering voice; Charo Ronquillo who likewise hail from San Pedro,Laguna, has trailed the ramps of international fashion icons.
They are only a few of the many young Filipinos who inspire peers and friends to excel in the name of patriotism and love for country.
With what the youth can do when they give it their best they attest to what Dr. Jose Rizal hoped for. They prove the hero right.
